  • Automatic updates: new versions arrive on their own. Swapboard checks once a day whether a new version is out; to check right away, use «Проверить обновления…» in the menu.
  • From 0.4.1 or earlier, moving to 0.5.0 is a one-time manual update: download it from the site and replace the app in Applications. After that, updates arrive on their own.

  • Independence. Its own open model, its own per-app rules, its own ё-fixer.
  • The open model is more accurate: insensitive to «ё», full FrequencyWords frequency lists, 2.9 million Russian word forms from OpenCorpora. Catches ~99% of wrong-layout words on open data alone.
  • Words that are real in both layouts (руку/here, рук/her) are no longer switched on their own: the language of the phrase decides.
  • All-caps abbreviations (ГУВД, РСФСР) are no longer mistaken for English words.
  • Fixed: the ё-fixer turned «не» into «нё»; «всем» and «черта» no longer get an «ё».

  • Installer: a notarised drag-to-Applications DMG.
  • Universal build (Apple Silicon + Intel), open model bundled in the app, data licenses.
  • ⇧⇧ works with selections: selected text is converted to the other layout; without a selection the word is fixed, even with no space after it; if there is nothing to fix, the layout is switched.
  • “Built-in rules” setting: auto-switching can be enabled in terminals/IDEs too.

  • App icon: two keys, «A» and «Ф», with swap arrows. Generated with GPT Image 2.5 (KIE), split into layers with Seedream 5 Pro, assembled in Pixelmator; full-bleed square so that macOS 26 rounds the corners itself.
